Bat Habitat Creation

Brumbats  have an ongoing project to install bat boxes in Streetly wood so the conservation team helped make the woodland more ‘bat friendly’ by thinning out the dense holly.

This will give the bats space to forage for insects which tend to cluster around the vegetation.  Due to it’s size and position within the West Midlands urban area, Sutton Park is a key location for bats.

With the cut material, dead hedges were created to protect an archaeological ditch and bank in the area.
